Learning to drive and tips on arriving safely

Parents find it hard teaching their kids how to drive. Also, a lot of parents cannot afford to put money out for driving lessons, so they have no choice, but to teach their kids how to drive. Sometimes it's hard for the friend or family member to teach a new driver, because of the lack of patience. Most people should refrain from yelling at their new student. Driving lessons from a recognized school will help calm the nerves. A lot of parents and or family member pass on bad driving habits. You have take in consideration that your parent or older brother or sister have been driving for quite sometime and may be a safe driver, but have picked up bad driving habits over the years, and is not in tune with the way the examiner has to consider giving you a new drivers license. Rolling stops at stop signs, backing up and looking forward, and not signaling at turns is not going to win you brownie points with your examiner, when you decide to take the road test.

The marking may be pretty stern if you have picked up habits that have little or no consideration for pedestrians, or other drivers. Also having too much consideration could be equally as bad to. Can you picture stopping on a roadway where there is no crosswalk, and you wave a pedestrian across. Now picture this. The car behind you does not realize why you are stopping, and decides to go around you. Can you imagine the potential danger the pedestrian can be in? Do not give the right of way, if it's your right of way! If you do decide to stop and wave anybody across your path, make sure you know what is going on behind and around you. Just remember when you do something out of the ordinary, its for a good reason only. You’re written exam was not to see how good your memory is, but to be able to apply that memory on the road with knowledge of what street signs mean. Yellow signs are warnings; white and black signs are regulation signs. Green signs are for tourist, or directional signs. You should always be glancing for these signs at all times. The signs are located on the right side of the roadway. Check for them on every turn and before every curve. You’re chances of you getting caught in a bad situation will escalate if your not paying attention to these signs. Paying attention to these signs will forewarn you of a dangerous curve ahead or a pedestrian crosswalk. Quick glances for signs on the right side of the roadway will increase you’re good driving habits. Glancing from side to side and in your mirrors is very important. Now how many times did I repeat the word glancing? The most common excuse for a driver in an accident, but officer it happened so fast! The second you turn you’re head to look, is the second the vehicle stops in front of you! Equally important is being able to register everything and make a decisive decision before you get there. Paying attention to what is happening directly in front of you’re vehicle is of most importance, and knowing what is happening behind you is equally important. Knowing that driving is a privilege, and can be taken away at any time, is half the battle. I like to think of driving as a long-term game. There are rules and regulations in every game. If you abide by them, driving can be quite enjoyable. The idea of the game is to not hit anybody! Do not let anybody hit you! Defensive driving is what it is called. The deadliest player in this game is the drinking driver! So report anyone that you see getting in a vehicle intoxicated or weaving in his or her lane. You may save a life or two.

Dubai aerospace enterprise

Dubai, prospering from near-record oil prices, plans to invest $20 billion to create a company that will lease planes, develop airports and make aircraft parts to tap into growing demand for air travel in the Middle East and Asia. The family ruled emirate, which owns the largest Arab airline, may buy as many as 50 wide-body aircraft from Boeing and Airbus in the next four years, said Rashid Al-Malik, project director for the planned company, which will be called Dubai Aerospace. "It's not surprising Dubai is moving into these activities because the whole focus of the aerospace industry has shifted eastward in recent years," said Doug McVitie, managing director of Arran Aerospace, a forecasting company in France. Mr. Al-Malik said Middle Eastern governments including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar had ordered as many as 300 aircraft for delivery in the next five years and Dubai Aerospace would order its first this year. The Dubai Government at the weekend announced the formation of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise as a holding company with six operating subsidiaries. Dubai Aerospace Enterprise will be chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, chairman of the Emirates airline group and president of the Dubai department of civil aviation. Dubai's ambitious foray into the aerospace industry will build on the presence the emirate has already established in the aviation sector through the development of Dubai international airport and the rapid expansion of Emirates into one of the world's leading long-haul airlines. The business concept here is to create a new hub for aviation, from the leasing and maintenance of planes to training personnel at a new university to operating other airports and even manufacturing aircraft. It clearly makes excellent business sense to lever off Emirates position as a major buyer of aircraft to promote the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise to the aircraft manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus.

Tax magic how to turn taxable income into tax free income

Believe it or not, there are ways to convert taxable income into non-taxable income, without any fear of an IRS audit. Here's one of my favorites. It's been part of our tax code for over 30 years, yet many still don't take advantage of it. What am I talking about? The IRA -- Individual Retirement Account. Now, before you say, "Oh, I know all about that one; what's so great about an IRA?", give me 10 minutes to explain 3 new benefits to the IRA rules that you may not realize. BENEFIT #1: How To Avoid Tax Rather Than Postpone Tax First, did you know that there are now 2 kinds of IRA's available? The so-called Traditional IRA is the one that first came out way back in the 1970's. But there's a newer version of the IRA that's only a few years old -- it's called the Roth IRA. And the difference between these 2 IRA's is huge. Traditional IRA contributions are tax-deductible, resulting in immediate tax savings. The growth of those contributions is also tax-sheltered while the funds remain in the account. But eventually all tax-deductible Traditional IRA contributions, as well as the growth of those contributions, will be subject to income tax when the money is withdrawn from the account. In other words, Traditional IRA's offer the opportunity to temporarily postpone taxes. In contrast, the Roth IRA offers the opportunity to permanently avoid taxes. With a Roth IRA, you don't take a deduction for your contributions; instead, you make a contribution with "after-tax" dollars. Whatever you put in not only grows tax-free, but can also be withdrawn tax-free. Here's an example to illustrate: If you invest $2,000 per year for 20 years into a Roth IRA, you will have invested a total of $40,000. Now if that Roth IRA earns an average of 10% per year, that $40,000 will grow into $126,005. Now comes the fun part: Assuming the IRA has existed for at least 5 years and you are at least 59 Ѕ years old, you can withdraw the entire $126,005 tax free. In contrast, if this money had been invested in a Traditional IRA, the entire $126,005 would be subject to income tax as it is withdrawn. The $86,005 of growth is magically converted from taxable income to non-taxable income. Assuming you are in the 15% federal tax bracket, that's a savings of $12,901. Add any state income tax, and you could save over $15,000 in taxes. BENEFIT #2: Take An Extra 3 Ѕ Months To Fund Your IRA The deadline for contributing to your IRA is April 15 of the year AFTER the year for which the contribution made. So for Year 2005, you have until April 15, 2006 to put money into your IRA. If you've already invested the maximum (more about that in a moment) by December 31, 2005, then you're done. No more money can go into the IRA for 2005. But if you haven't maxed out your IRA, you have until April 15 to do so. Which brings me to . . . BENEFIT #3: The Maximum Contribution Amounts Have Increased For many years, the most you could put into an IRA was $2,000. Now, the maximum is $4,000 (assuming you have at least that much earned income from wages or self-employment income). And if you are over 49, you can put in another $500, bringing the total maximum to $4,500. A married couple, both age 50 or older, can put a whopping $9,000 per year into a IRA. Not too shabby, eh? One final note about these Roth IRA rules: For married people, you can only contribute the maximum of $4,000 or $4,500 if your combined income is less than $150,000. If you are single or head of household, you can contribute the maximum if your income is less than $95,000. For most middle-class folks looking for a perfectly legal way to permanently avoid tax (rather then merely temporarily postpone tax), the Roth IRA fits the bill. Now comes the hard part -- how to actually implement this tax avoidance strategy. "We'd like to save as much as we can for our golden years. But $9,000 a year? It's hard to put aside that kind of money. We need every dollar we make just to pay the bills." If that's your situation, I'm not going to get up on my "what-do-you-mean-you-can't-save-any-money-for-retirement" soapbox and start preaching at you. I will say this: You've got to start somewhere, and you've got to start saving something, don't you? People who have a problem saving for retirement usually have a budgeting problem. For an excellent resource on budgeting, I highly recommend the Budget Stretcher web site: http:// homemoneyhelp. com. This site offers a free budget system complete with simple forms and worksheets to help you figure out how to put some money aside for a Roth IRA or other savings plan. Take advantage of this resource and get started today.

Why overcoming objections can lose the sale

: "Objections" or "Concerns" The problem is, that's where you often lose them, because reacting to "objections" almost inevitably lets prospects pigeonhole you as "salesperson". Think about it for a moment. When prospects raise an objection and you cleverly dismiss it, what often happens? They come up with even more objections. When you dismiss those, they may suddenly remember that they have another appointment, or that they have to make an important call. Or they may agree to your offer…and then a day or two later you get a message that they're not going to go forward after all. That's probably the most demoralizing outcome of all, because you thought you "had" that sale, and they've reneged on you. What's happening here? It's about sales pressure. When you're so focused on making the sale that you counter a prospect's objections, you're pressuring them. It's that simple. I'd like to share with you a different perspective on how to view objections. Objections aren't roadblocks, red flags, or stop signs. They're an opportunity to learn more about your prospect's truth so you and they can decide whether the solution you're offering can solve their problem or issue. In fact, we should probably stop using the term "objections" entirely and start talking about "concerns," because that's what objections really are. But for you to be able to look at objections this way, you have to let go of the traditional goal of selling, which is to make the sale. When we adopt the mindset that objections are another way to learn about a prospect's truth, we stop panicking and falling into the trap of pressuring them that chases them away. When we respond to objections in a way that invites them to share more about their situation with us, we sustain and enhance the relationship of mutual trust and openness we've shared so far. When we don't fall into the traditional "I've got to rescue this sale" reaction, we free ourselves to continue the process of discovering whether we can help solve a problem. Here's another advantage of reframing how you view objections -- they give you another opportunity to learn whether your prospect is a match for what you have to offer. When you stop trying to overcome objections and just listen, you may hear that there really is a problem around whether your product or service is a fit for them. In that case, you and they can talk further, or you may decide it would be best to wish them well and move on. This means that you can make better use of your time. "This all sounds great," you're probably thinking. "But how do I actually do it?" Common "Objections" Here are some specifics about how you can respond to 3 common "objections" in ways that avoid introducing sales pressure and open the conversation to more exploration of your prospect's truth. "Your price is too high." Traditional sales approaches tell you to defend your pricing or to deny that it's too high. Consider this response instead: "You are right, it can be perceived as high, especially if you haven't had a chance to experience the solution yet. The last thing I want to do is have you feel any pressure from me, that I'm trying to persuade you otherwise. Maybe it might help if we took a look at the core issues this should solve for you and then identify what the return will be. That might provide you with a broader perspective on the pricing, would you be open to that?" By inviting the other person to tell you more, instead of challenging or denying how they view things, you're validating their viewpoint and reopening the conversation around the idea of why they feel the price is high. By not trying to counter the "objection," you allow the dialogue to move back to a discussion that centers around whether you're a good match for each other. "Why should I go with you?" Traditional sales approaches to tell us to defend our company and our solution and to try to persuade prospects as to why we're better. Instead, consider saying something along these line, in a relaxed, low-key way: (Gentle pause.) "I'm not quite convinced you should yet, not until you're completely comfortable with the reasons why this solution might be best for you. The last thing I want to do is put pressure on you by trying to convince you to do something you may or may not want to do. Would it make sense for us to take a look at the actual issues you want to solve and then see if we are a fit?" Here again, you're not creating sales pressure by defending your solution. You're simply communicating that you're focused solely on helping them to solve their problem. "We don't have the budget for that." Again, traditional sales approaches focus on overcoming this kind of objection by showing prospects why they should choose your solution. Think about saying this instead, in a very calm, relaxed voice: "That's not a problem. (Gentle pause.) Quite a few of our clients originally had not allocated a budget for this, mostly because they hadn't become aware of all their options. Would you be open to a different perspective on how this could impact your business and provide you with a solid return?" When prospects express a concern and you reply in a very calm, relaxed voice, "That's not a problem," you're validating whatever they said as having truth. "That's not a problem" immediately defuses any tension and allows you both to continue your dialogue. You're not jumping frantically into defending your product or service -- you're simply suggesting that it might make sense to continue your conversation to see if there really is a justification for solving a problem they might have. One More Advantage… Here's one more benefit you're likely to experience if you start thinking about concerns rather than objections: less stress. Sherri put it well when she called me back the other day: "Ari, I have to tell you how much more effortless and relaxed my sales conversations have been since I started thinking about 'concerns' instead of 'objections.' It's made a huge difference. I can almost see prospects breathe a sigh of relief when they raise a concern and I respond to them with a gentle 'That's not a problem,' and they realize I'm not trying to deny their concerns or steamroller them." If you consider a different mindset that looks at "objections" as "concerns," you too may find that they can turn into gateways instead of roadblocks.

Thinking about discount notebook computers

While notebook computer prices have come down quite a lot, laptops still range from inexpensive notebook models to high end luxury jobs. Naturally, the notebook you eventually choose to buy will depend on your resources and requirements, but if you are on a budget like so many of us are, you should give some thought to picking up a discount notebook computer. There are a variety of reasons that a particular model may be discounted and it's smart to try to find out why. A legitimate retailer should be able to offer a reasonable explanation. Any discount notebook computer should be new and carry a full manufacturer's warranty. Some specific notebooks may be discounted because they've been factory refurbished. Generally this means they were bought and returned for some reason. Then the factory rebuilt them to original specifications, replacing any damaged or defective parts.

Refurbished laptops may be available for even less than discount notebooks. Not everyone is willing to take a chance on a rebuilt notebook, but you might want to consider the fact that these machines have been burned in and the weak parts failed and have been replaced. And they still come with a full warranty. Manufacturers will often discount models based on closeout of a particular notebook computer. It may not have the latest technology and is being replaced by an upgraded model.

Some discounts may be for loss leaders. Often a person will upgrade later to a more expensive model based on brand loyalty or just the comfortable knowledge that the first notebook from XYZ Corp worked well so why not stick with them. A lifetime customer is worth a small loss. Retailers will often discount in order to get rid of excess inventory or prepare for new models. You do want to make sure you aren't being given a used notebook disguised as a discounted model. Check the warranty. A used notebook will normally not carry a manufacturer's warranty and any warranty period may be shorter then the standard new model warranty.

Never, ever be afraid to ask hard questions. It's your money and it's going to be your data going into the notebook you buy. If you get weak or unsatisfactory answers, evasions or hostility, walk. There's lots of places to buy notebook computers. One thing you must do is to analyze your own computer needs before you go looking for a notebook. Exactly what will you be using the machine for most of the time. How important is it to have a really fast machine?

Do you need high end graphics? How much disk space do you require? Do you need to read both CDs and DVDs? Do you want to be able to write CDs, DVDs? What kind of sound do you need? How much memory? What other specific features do you want - wireless, networking, floppy disk? Do you plan to carry it around a lot? Then weight may be important. Do you need a long battery life?

How about the size of the screen? What will you be comfortable with? Let me share something you here. I use a refurbished Compaq for nearly everything these days. It's been incredibly reliable for well over 2 and a half years. I rarely take it anywhere. I have an external keyboard plugged into it and I use an external monitor too. But I use the LCD at the same time. The graphics allow me to spread my desktop over the external monitor and the LCD screen. My visible desktop is over 25 inches.

Depending on your graphics, you can do the same thing with a desktop computer, but it takes up a lot more room. Now I feel horribly limited when I have a little 17, 19 or 21 inch desktop. This is, hands down, the absolute best deal I've ever made in a computer buy - including all the computers I've built myself from scratch. That was a little off subject, but I've found that very few people realize just how useful spreading your desktop over more than one monitor can be in terms of both comfort and productivity. OK, back to the pre-shopping analysis. This kind of analysis sounds tedious because it is. It's much more fun to just go out and buy on impulse. Unfortunately that's not a smart thing to do. It sets you up to be seduced by a hot sales pitch for a really neat bleeding edge high end notebook.

There are very very few people who actually need that kind of technology. The reality is that 97 to 99% of the notebook computer buyers could do at least 95% of their typical tasks with the cheapest, slowest notebook on the market. You need to be certain about how much you're willing to pay to do that remaining 5% a little faster. And if your needs aren't typical, you probably already have a good idea of just what's required. The advantage of a discount computer is that you can put some of the money you've just saved into more memory, an external hard drive for backup, an additional (big) external monitor, an extra battery, a new printer or whatever additional accessory will make your work easier. And you'll probably still come out ahead. We all have a tendency to overestimate our needs - and to want the biggest, fastest, best, coolest whatever. Salesmen know this. After all a discount notebook computer just isn't as sexy somehow, is it? But let's be real here, a notebook is to work.

It will not get you that really hot lady or that primo guy. In any case, the truly cool people have minions to carry around their stuff and wouldn't be caught dead lugging around a computer or using one in public. A little thought, a little rationality, and you can end up with a high quality discount notebook that's more than sufficient for your needs without even spending your whole budget. Now that is cool. You can sell anything on ebay 458

You Can Sell Anything on eBay – Or Can You? Over 100 million people are members of eBay. Through eBay, you can buy items in almost any category that you can imagine – at great prices. You can also sell almost anything you can imagine on eBay – people often sell items that have absolutely no real value for very high prices. There are limits, however, to what can be bought and sold. eBay does not allow certain items to be auctioned through their website. Services are one type of ‘item’ that cannot be auctioned – simply because it is not an item. Some seller’s blatantly ignore this however. The sell of other items is illegal, even if it isn’t being sold through eBay. eBay restricts the sale of any type of item that is considered ‘illegal for sale’ in any other selling format. Illegal items such as satellite descramblers are forbidden as well. Anything that is copyrighted - such as copies of DVDs, CDs, or software - may not be sold through eBay auctions. You can, however, sell a DVD, CD, or any software that you bought legitimately…as long as you are not just selling a copy that you made of these types of items. eBay does not allow the sale of ‘replicas.’ A replica is a knockoff version of designer items, such as purses, dresses, shoes, or sunglasses that look identical to those that have designer labels. Items that are regulated by the state or federal government are forbidden on eBay. These items include alcoholic beverages, weapons and firearms, all tobacco products, and both prescription and illegal drugs. There are small exceptions to this rule, however. If you have a collectable, such as a tin that contains tobacco, you may sell that item if the package has never been opened, and if you state the contents of the package are not meant for consumption. There are other conditions that must be met as well when selling these types of collectables. Any type or breed of animal or reptile may not be sold through an eBay auction. This includes animals that were once living, and are now stuffed and mounted. This rule may also apply to items that are taken from endangered species, such as Ivory. When it comes to these types of items, when in doubt, don’t. Tickets may be sold, but it is illegal to sell tickets for a higher price than you originally paid for them. This is called ticket scalping, and it is illegal. Lottery tickets are also banned from eBay auctions, as well as raffle tickets. Again, if you are not sure if your item is eligible for an eBay auction, either don’t put it up for auction, or contact eBay to get an answer one way or the other. Don’t risk breaking the law! Your Rights as an eBay Buyer. When you buy things on eBay, you pay the seller before they send you anything. This means that you, as a buyer, are vulnerable to all sorts of problems. You might not get the items you have paid for, or they might be damaged or faulty. Luckily, you have two very important rights when you buy on eBay. The Right to Receive Your Item. Maybe the seller never sent the item, or maybe it got lost in the post. Whatever happened, you paid for the item. If it doesn't arrive in the post as described, you have the right to a replacement or a refund, whether it's the seller's fault or not. The fact that you bought something on eBay doesn't mean that you don't have the exact same rights that you would have if you bought it in a shop (these rights are pretty much the same all over the world). Plus, under eBay's rules, the seller isn't allowed to change their mind about selling you the item: once the auction ends, it becomes a contract - you must buy and they must sell, or face eBay's penalties. The Right for Your Item to Be as Described in the Auction. Sometimes sellers don't wrap items properly, and so they get broken. Occasionally they write descriptions that are misleading or just plain wrong to begin with, leaving out vital details that would have caused you to change your mind about buying. If this happens to you, you again have the right to a replacement or a refund. So How Do I Use My Rights? First, you should take it up with the seller - most will be responsive, as do not want to have their reputation damaged when an upset buyer leaves negative feedback for all their future buyers to see. If that doesn't work, report them to eBay. While eBay don't have many people handling complaints, they do have a relatively effective set of automatic process to handle common problems buyers and sellers have with one another. Finally, if that doesn't work, then you should seek advice from consumer groups in your country, and as a last resort from the police. You should never have to get this far, though: problems on eBay that can't be resolved easily are extremely rare. Don't Be Too Quick. Remember not to get too annoyed and be unfair to the seller: nice sellers have agreed to give me refunds for undelivered items, only for me to find out a few weeks later that they were being held for me at the post office! Always try your best to communicate and think of everything that might have gone wrong: eBay works best when buyers and sellers sort out their problems together, instead of reporting each other to the authorities straight away. More often that not receiving what they paid for, buyers have an altogether different problem: they knew what they were paying for, but didn't realise that what they were paying for was overpriced, low quality or a scam. The next email will give you a list of tips on how to avoid being ripped off on eBay.

Buying an all in one system

These days, more and more people are turning away from memberships to gyms and instead choosing to invest money in a home gym. You can put a home gym in a spare corner of your home, or even in the basement if you wish. Along with helping you save money by combining several different types of equipment into one machine, these types of equipment can easily fit in small spaces and type up a lot less weight than their individual counterparts. When you are considering to buy an all in one piece of exercise equipment, you should first think about your goals. You should consider what you hope to achieve from exercising and just how well this piece of equipment will benefit you. There are several types of all in one equipment for exercise on the market and almost all of them are advertised well on television, in magazines, and on the internet. The most popular types on the market are those types that are geared towards individuals who are interested in lifting weights. Right now, the two most popular types of all in one exercise systems are the Bowflex and Total Gym brands. The Bowflex system uses resistant bows that bend instead of the traditional weights that simply lift. Bowflex is designed to fit a wide variety of budgets and needs, it's widely adaptable and extremely popular as well. To make things even better, you can store the basic Bowflex system in small and tight places, even under a bed if you choose. The larger and more expensive Blowflex system competes with the types of professional equipment that you can find in gyms, which allow you a quality workout on quality equipment. The Total Gym system is great as well, as it is advertised by martial arts legend Chuck Norris and supermodel Christie Brinkley. It is less expensive than the Bowflex and uses gravity and resistance instead of traditional weights. By using this system, you have the ability to adapt the machine to a wide variety of exercises that will work many different areas of your body. When you make that decision about buying an all in one exercise system, you must also decide on price, features, brand, and just who will use the machine. If your family plans to use it as well, then you'll need to get a system that everyone will agree on. You obviously wouldn't want a machine that is too complicated for others in your home. Even though Bowflex and Total Gym are the 2 most popular types of all in one equipment, there are several others out there as will, from brands such as Weider and many others. Before you make your choice, you should look at several to see which one offers you more for your money.

Bottled water is better than tap water

Is bottled water better than tap water? Nov. 6, 2004 If you think bottled water is safer than tap water, you need to read the following. A Dutch study presented at a recent meeting of the American Society for Microbiology in Washington, DC. found that 40% of bottled water is contaminated with bacteria and or fungi. Chemical or biological contamination of bottled water has been already found for many years. Some readers might already have known that some so called spring water is actually tap water without any purification. Many brands of bottled water are indeed inferior to tap water in regard to their safety. The package per se can be a problem. Years ago when I was in graduate school, we did a sensory evaluation on the odor of the bottled water. We found that the opaque bottles often times carry strong plastic odor. To avoid intake of pollutants through water, consumers need to use as less water as possible. Drinking 8 cups a day may not always be necessary. Let common sense be your guide. Drinking too much water could get you too much of pollutants. If you buy and drink bottled water, make sure that the bottle is transparent. I suggest that opaque and colored bottles be avoided. At home, you’d better use a filter for the tap water, particularly when you have a kid or two. Filters need to be certified by a third party for its sound quality. There are some products on the market that just self-claim certain benefits. Do not use such products.

Aspartame causes cancer in rats

Rats given varying doses of aspartame -- the second most widely used artificial sweetener in the world -- experienced a statistically significant increase in the incidence of malignant tumors, lymphomas and leukemias in a study slated for publication in Environmental Health Perspectives. The study's authors are calling for an "urgent re-evaluation" of the current guidelines for consumption of this compound. "Our study has shown that aspartame is a multipotential carcinogenic compound whose carcinogenic effects are also evident at a daily dose of 20 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) of body weight," the authors write, "notably less than the current acceptable daily intake for humans." Currently, the acceptable daily intake for humans is set at 50 mg/kg in the United States and 40 mg/kg in Europe. More Than 200 Million People Aspartame is found in more than 6,000 products, including carbonated and powdered soft drinks, hot chocolate, chewing gum, candy, desserts, yogurt and tabletop sweeteners, as well as some pharmaceutical products like vitamins and sugar-free cough drops. More than 200 million people worldwide consume the sweetener. It has been used for more than 30 years, having first been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1974. Earlier research on the carcinogenicity of aspartame performed by its producers has been negative. In the latest study, investigators administered aspartame to rats by adding it to a standard diet. They began studying the rats at eight weeks of age and continued until the spontaneous death of each rat. This study followed more animals over a longer period than did earlier research. Treatment groups received feed that contained concentrations of aspartame at dosages simulating human daily intakes of 5,000, 2,500, 500, 100, 20 and 4 mg/kg body weight. Groups consisted of 100 males and 100 females at each of the three highest dosages, and 150 males and 150 females at all lower dosages, as well as controls. The experiment ended after the death of the last animal at 159 weeks. At spontaneous death, each animal underwent examination for microscopic changes in all organs and tissues, a process different from the aspartame studies conducted 30 years ago and one that was designed to allow aspartame to fully express any carcinogenic potential. Extensive Evidence of Malignancies The treated animals showed extensive evidence of malignant cancers, including lymphomas, leukemias and tumors at multiple organ sites in both males and females. The increase in lymphomas and leukemias may be related to one of the metabolites in aspartame -- namely methanol -- which is metabolized in both rats and humans to formaldehyde, the authors speculate. Both methanol and formaldehyde have shown links to lymphomas and leukemias in other long-term experiments. "In our opinion, previous studies did not comply with today's basic requirements for testing the carcinogenic potential of a physical or chemical agent, in particular concerning the number of rodents for each experimental group (40-86, compared to 100-150 in the current study) and the termination of previous studies at only 110 weeks of age of the animals," the authors conclude. Her skin like silk had attracted as he saw her on the beach, and regardless of timidity his he had bought a box of chocolates – he said they were soft to the touch as she seemed to be. Their ardent fate flourished and Jean murmured as she bore in mind vacations and picnics, swimming in the same sea she was looking at now and canoodling in the back row of the cinema. Simple techniques to get around agonizing rheumatism

Simply put, rheumatism is swelling. It is characterized by swelling and pain found on the muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. The term is used for a variety of related ailments in the past. Yet recently, rheumatism was subdivided into several conditions, which gave rise to more specific ailments. The most common symptoms of the onset of rheumatism are sudden fever, intense soreness, pain and stiffness of the muscles and the affected body components. For acute muscular rheumatism, the affected area experiences elevated sensitivity that even the lightest of the bed covers may cause excruciating pain. Rheumatism usually starts acutely which means that the onset is rapid and may go quickly as well. However, with a wrong mode of treatment, rheumatism and its effects may aggravate and will most likely develop into chronic rheumatism.

Rheumatic pain is often tormenting but may also advance to a delibitating state. So it is important to give initial relief before any symptoms develop. Provided below are some of the prevalently employed homeophatic techniques to heal rheumatism and to delay its development. Treatment by means of Potato Juice What more could be effective than using potato for preventing the onset and aggravation of rheumatism? For the juice, one or two teaspoons taken before every meal may be sufficient. This is helpful in relieving pain and in minimizing the toxic wastes in the body. The potato skin on the other hand, contains salt minerals that are typically used for rheumatism treatment. The minerals found in the potato peel may be extracted by means of boiling. This decoction can also be taken in the same manner. Treatment by means of Bitter Gourd It is by far, easier to extract the juice form the bitter gourd than with potato. A cup of this juice combined with a teaspoon of honey must be taken daily to treat rheumatism. To provide more effective relief, this treatment must be used over a period of three months. Treatment By means of Celery It is more convenient to extract the juice of the vegetable itself for treating rheumatism but the more effective way of doing it is by means of extracting the seeds. This has a tonic effect on the stomach and the kidneys. To achieve the desired relief from rheumatism, it is best to drink a hot liquid containing 5 to 10 drops of the seed extract. But you may also use powdered celery seeds as an alternative. Treatment by means of Lemon Juice For more efficient result, the sufferer will have to drink the juice of three lemons everyday. Treatment by means of Walnuts Walnuts must be thoroughly eaten to arrive to its beneficial effects. Half a dozen each day may be sufficient in treating rheumatism Treatment by means of Rhubarb Remedy using this herb seldom fails and may prove very beneficial for the sufferer. The stalk of rhubarb must be pounded along with an equal amount of sugar. One teaspoon of this solution must be taken daily. These well recognized home remedies for rheumatism have been passed down from ages to ages. Though many will dispute their effectivity over the ailment, the proponents of these remedies will say otherwise. Whatever the conflict between modern medicine and homeophatic treatment there may be, the fact still remains to be that people recognized the capacity of these methods to heal. And so they are still in existence up to this date.

The truth about breast implants medical insurance

The cost of breast implants, which is the medical term used to describe a surgery to increase the size of a woman’s breasts, is high. Therefore, the majority of patients who desire to have breast implants surgery are turning to their private insurance companies for coverage. Prior to being accepted as a candidate for a breast implants procedure, the patient must undergo an evaluation with their physician. This may include a physical, a look into the patient’s past medical history and a determination of why the patient wishes to have this type of surgery. The patient will be informed by both the surgeon and primary care physician about the benefits, risks and overall outlook following surgery. Before moving forward, the patient should contact his/her private insurance carrier in order to determine if their policy covers this type of surgery.

The problem that many patients encounter is, because breast implants is a form of plastic surgery, many insurance companies will not cover the cost of this procedure. If breast implants are included in their policy, the next step will include submitting letters of recommendation to the insurance carrier. This letter will be sent directly from your surgeon or physician’s office and will request financial approval for the breast implants. Along with this letter, a copy of the patient’s medical records will also be submitted. The patient will be responsible for gathering much of his/her medical records and receipts, so it is a good idea to begin gathering this information as soon as possible because letters of recommendation cannot be submitted without it. Following the submission of recommendation letters, most physicians expect a response within several weeks. Depending on the insurance carriers, however, decisions can take anywhere from two weeks up to several months. In the event that a denial is issued, the physician will typically continue working with the patient to provide additional information expressing the need for breast implants surgery. If the patient is continually denied for coverage, it may be necessary to seek alternate funding options. This may include a payment plan offered by the hospital, which requires that the patient accept the financial responsibility for the surgery in the form of monthly payments. A bank or credit union loan may be another option, but will depend on the patient’s credit history and other factors as to whether the loan is approved or denied. This article is intended to be used for informational purposes only. It should not be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice. Anyone considering a breast implants procedure must consult a licensed physician for a proper determination and further information.

Basic internet marketing 101

To have a successful Internet business, you need only three things: 1. Product 2. Copywriting 3. Traffic It really is that simple. If you have those three things… competently performed, you will have a succesful, profitable Internet business. Let’s talk about competency in each of those three areas and how you can quickly master each one. Product You need a product that people want. Don’t fall in love with a product just because you think it’s cool. I’ll go into details in a future article, but I look at two things to determine if a product is wanted enough for me to sell it: 1. Are there people searching for that product (I use the Overture tool) 2. Are fellow marketers willing to pay a significant amount of money for traffic for that search term because people are buying (I also use the Overture tool). I multiply those two numbers. If the result is higher than the result for the product “air guns”, I’m willing to get into that market. Why “air guns”? It was simply my first profitable product. Can products that score lower than “air guns” be profitable? I’m sure they can, but there are enough markets that score higher than “air guns”, I’m not willing to chance it. BTW, don’t get too hung up on the product. It is the least important of the three items. Copywriting and traffic are infinitely more important to your business. Don’t spend two years developing a product. There are already thousands of products available on the Internet that you can market and earn a percentage as an affiliate. Choosing your product should take no longer than a half an hour, not two years. You can run the numbers for 6-10 product ideas in less than half an hour and make your decision. Then start concentrating on what really matters… which is… Copywriting Now you need to describe your product. You will do this in many ways. You will create a sales page on a web-site that will describe the product and try to sell it. You will write small text ads to run on PPC search engines. You will write similar one and two line descriptions to enter into affiliate networks. You will write articles and resource boxes for those articles. You may even write a signature line for use on forums. The point is that copywriting is what conveys the message about your product. It is simply some words. You can sometimes uses pictures and videos, but it is generally the words that actually do the selling. Don’t forget that you are in the business of words. How do you decide what words to use? You have three choices if you are a beginner: 1. Hire a high priced copywriter. Generally you will want to pay $5,000-$10,000 per sales page for a decent copywriter. Drop me a note if you want referrals. I know two of the best. 2. Use copywriting software that scores words. I recommend Glyphius which you can read more about at Glyphius. com. It scores your prospective ad copy against a massive database of profitable ads. You can simply make up some copy and click the score button. Then change it and click the score button again. Pick the highest scoring text after you have worked with it for awhile. You’ll have copy that the pros will envy and more importantly… copy that will convert that traffic into customers. 3. Fail for a long time while you are learning. Don’t laugh. Most Internet marketers choose this path. If you are persisent enough, you will learn what works and what doesn’t. Traffic Once you have copy that sells, you need to get people to see it. We call that “traffic” on the Internet. There are dozens of ways to get traffic on the Internet. Let me focus on two ways that I recommend to beginners because both are free (well; there is a small one-time cost to get started, but you don’t pay for each visitor like some other sources). 1. Search Engine Optimization - get free traffic from the search engines by being ranked high for the search terms associated with your product. 2. Article Submission - get recognition and links to your site by writing and submitting articles. Let’s talk about Search Engine Optimization first. First of all, DO NOT waste weeks and months of your life listening to the lemmings on the SEO forums. In my experience, they are just the blind leading the blind. There are three factors to search engine optimization you should focus on: a) Your domain and URLs b) On page optimization c) Links to your site For the first, I recommend you choose your domain and URL structure using Nemeas. You can read about it at Nemeas. com. It is very simple to use and is also based on a massive statistical analysis of the leading search engine. You simply score prospective domains and URLs and select the highest scoring one. I don’t recommend any on page optimization unless you are creating free content sites to feed traffic to your sales page. Instead, optimize your sales page for selling with Glyphius and don’t worry about the on page search engine factors. For getting inbound links to your site, I recommend article submission. I recommend that you use Artemis Pro. You can read more about it at ArtemisPro. com. It gives you a boost above any other currently available article submission tool because it submits a unique article to each publisher. That boost can amount to an 1875% increase in effectiveness given the same amount of time invested. At the end of each article, you should have a resource box with a link back to the site with your sales page. That resource box should be optimized with Glyphius. That’s it. Running a successful, profitable Internet business is really just that simple. It’s just choosing the right product, choosing the right words for your copywriting and choosing the best way to get traffic to your sales page. Please visit my blog often at JamesBrausch. com for further lessons on the simplicity of Internet marketing. I’ll post regular lessons there. Every entry on my blog is categorized into three topic areas: Product, Copywriting and Traffic. Just choose one of the topics to find out more information about that area of running a successful Internet business. Here’s to your success!

Teenagers and irritable bowel syndrome

Many irritable bowel syndrome sufferers first develop symptoms of IBS during their teenage years. Symptoms like stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation and bloating are difficult even for an adult to deal with, and if you also have to cope with peer pressure, new relationships and exams it can make life very miserable indeed. On top of this, teenagers often find that their parents, and even their doctors, do not take them seriously when they try to seek help. The number one complaint I hear from teenagers who have been diagnosed with IBS, often after many months or years of asking for help, is that "no-one believed I was sick". This is horrible for the teenager, as not only do they have the physical pain and discomfort to deal with, they also have to get past the fact that everyone around them thinks they are 'faking it'. Can you imagine anything worse? Because of this problem, it is vital that we trust our children when they're say that they're having bowel problems. Of course, most kids will try to get out of school once in a while, but very few will pretend to have embarrassing symptoms like diarrhea or wind. In fact, it may have taken a great deal of courage for them to even admit to these symptoms in the first place.

It's very important that when they do manage to talk about their problem, they receive a sympathetic ear. It's also vital that teenagers receive a definite diagnosis of IBS from a doctor - bowel symptoms can mean IBS, but they can also mean Crohn's Disease, celiac disease, and a range of other disorders, so please get these ruled out before you assume that it's IBS. Once a diagnosis has been made, you need to work alongside your teenager to help them find some treatments that work for them. This may be in the form of medications, dietary change, or supplements, and it may take a while to find something that works for each individual, but there certainly are treatments out there - don't let your child feel that they're going to suffer forever, or that just because IBS is still poorly understood there's no hope for the future. Most IBS sufferers find a treatment program that works for them, but it may take time and a trial and error approach. Another important point to remember is that because of the general lack of understanding of IBS, there are some long-standing myths which your child might be subjected to. The most damaging, and most common, of these myths is that IBS is "all in your head" - the implication being that if the sufferer would stop being so neurotic or anxious the IBS symptoms would magically go away. This is nonsense, and you should make sure that your child knows that their symptoms are NOT their fault, and are certainly not caused by emotional problems. Having said that, stress and anxiety can be triggers for IBS, just as certain foods can be triggers for IBS, and so anything you can do to relieve stress may help relieve symptoms to a certain extent. Remember that your child may be worried about not reaching a bathroom in time and having an accident, or having to leave class during school time and being made fun of. They might also have problems with teachers who think that they are missing out on too much school. At all stages of your teenager's illness, the best thing that you can do is be their advocate, whether it is with doctors who are not offering treatment options, teachers who are blaming your child for missing school, or family and friends who have decided that IBS is not a big deal. If you are standing beside your child saying "IBS is real, painful, and depressing, but we're going to beat this together" then you should find that your teenager is far more hopeful about the future, and far more willing to talk to you about what can be a very embarrassing and painful disorder.

Tools you may need for your next kitchen remodeling project

Tools You May Need for Your Next Kitchen Remodeling Project Are you a homeowner who has recently decided that a remodeled kitchen is just what you need? If so, there is a good chance that you may want to do that remodeling yourself. If that is the case, there are a number of tools, likely a large number of tools, which you will need. While there is a good chance that you may already have the majority of the tools needed for your next kitchen remodeling project, there is also a chance that you might not. Rest assure though because the majority of the tools needed can be found right at one of your local home improvement stores. When it comes to determining the tools that you will need, when starting your remodeling, it is important to determine which type of remodeling you will be doing. For instance, if you are installing a new set of kitchen cabinets, you will find that the tools needed may vary a little bit from the tools that would be used to replace your kitchen floor. That is why it is advised that you determine exactly what in your kitchen you would like remodeled, as well as what types of tools will be needed. Despite the fact that you may need different tools for different projects, there are a number of common tools; common tools that you may need no matter what kitchen remodeling project you are working one. Perhaps, the most important tools to have is a hammer. Hammers are used on a wide variety of different kitchen remodeling projects, particularly ones that require nails. Hammers can also be used to help position a tile or countertop piece into a tight space. Since hammers are used all around the house, sometimes on a daily basis, there is a good chance that you already own a hammer. In fact, there is a good chance that you own more than one! Aside from a hammer, it is also a good idea to have a collection of screwdrivers on hand. Although there is a good chance that you already own a couple of screwdrivers, you may want a multi-function screwdriver. A multi-function screwdriver is one that easily allows you to change the screwdriver heads, in no time at all. In fact, if you are really looking to save time, you may want to purchase an electric screw gun. A putty knife is another tool that you may need to use, when remodeling your kitchen. Putty knifes are ideal when replacing a kitchen countertops or when retiling your kitchen floor. They are great for removing unwanted or unneeded caulk or spreading around the glue that is needed to hold your kitchen tiles down. Putty knifes are common tools, but they are not as common as hammers or screwdrivers; therefore, you may need to purchase yourself one. It may also be a good idea to have box cutters or handsaws on hand. If you are replacing the flooring in your kitchen or if you are installing a new laminate kitchen countertop, there is a good chance that you need to cut materials down to size. In some cases, a box cutter could do, but in other cases, you may need a handsaw. That is why it is best to have them both on hand. In addition to the above mentioned tools, you may need to have a wrench, a measuring tape, a glue gun, a pair of pliers, and a ladder. Of course, it is also advised that you think along the lines of safety. In addition to the above mentioned tools, it may be a good idea to have a pair of safety goggles, a face mask, work gloves, and even a hard topped construction hat, just in case. Word Count 622
