Do i really need colonic irrigation

Colonic irrigation is lauded by its advocates as providing relief from a number of complaints, while improving also the general health and wellbeing of the irrigation patient. Many mainstream medical professionals, however, as opposed to the alternative practitioners who usually provide the colonic irrigations, remain less than enthused by the treatment, and claim that the procedure merely provides an expensive version of a detox that the body is more than capable of performing by itself. So is the cost of colonic irrigation really justified, or would the consumer be better off with a store bought laxative? The difference, perhaps, between the colonic irrigation and the laxative is that the first is said to be conducive to maintaining health, while the second is usually only taken as a quick fix when something is clearly wrong with our digestives systems. Not purporting to offer anything other than the most immediate and minimal sort of detox, a laxative makes no lofty health claims for itself. Supporters of colonic irrigations, however, claim that the procedure can be helpful in alleviating the symptoms of a variety of different conditions, from chronic fatigue to arthritis. Those patients enduring the daily difficulties associated with such conditions would most readily agree the cost of colonic irrigation to be cheap at half the price if the procedure did indeed bring some respite, and while scientific evidence is lacking in the support of this, the anecdotal affirmation brought to the table by those who have found relief after a colonic irrigation detox cannot easily be ignored. So what do colonic irrigations actually involve?

The procedure is, in the grand scheme of things, a relatively simple one – large amounts of water are introduced into the rectum by the use of a tube and syringe, and removed again after a period of time. The colon, literally, experiences an irrigation, which is thought to remove any fecal build up that exists in the colonic area that might be causing symptoms for the patient because of the seepage of toxins into his or her body. Just as the effectiveness of the treatment is doubted by mainstream medical professionals, so is the problem the colonic irrigation is designed to cure – doctors claim that the material found in our intestines is not damaging to us at all. For many people, the purpose of a detox is to remove material that might not be forthcoming of its own accord, in which case a laxative – at a cost of just a couple of dollars a pack – would seem to be just the thing. But for those patients who have found relief from a variety of symptoms in its aftermath, the cost of a colonic irrigation would seem to be well worth it. Those with an extra seventy to eighty dollars to spend might just like to find out for themselves.

The hawthorne effect in eeg biofeedback and subliminal training

: The Hawthorne Effect is a little known phenomenon of the unconscious mind. A person starts training at something "new". For a few hours or days, there is significant improvement in this training, then, suddenly, no improvement or in some few cases, a reverse in training is experienced. No one "knows" exactly why this phenomenon is a factor in various educational training situations. The major theory is that It comes from the unconscious mind "resisting change"..Or, you might use the popular phrase “If it works, don't fix it”! While it seems to appear more in Subliminal Training than other modes, it's also present in other training or teaching situations, including EEG Biofeedback (AKA Neurofeedback). As usual, it varies with each INDIVIDUAL. A majority of persons never notice any effects. Why do some, and not others?

We don't know - always remember that in dealing with the mind, every one is different (INDIVIDUALITY is the key). However, in a few persons, this Hawthorne Effect may be very strong, and perhaps frightening. Since this Hawthorne Effect seems to be more prevalent in subliminal brain training, I have given this subject a lot of thought, and have the following theories as to how this Hawthorne Effect may work in different individuals: * In my opinion, the most probable reason for this effect is the unconscious mind's "resistance to change", as part of our inherent defense system. The computer part of our brain tries to maintain the status quo. This is known as homeostasis in medical language. In layman language, "don't fix what ain't broke".

* Another possible factor for some persons may be that the unconscious mind doesn't want that brain problem solved. The unconscious mind is a strange, and at times, a murky place indeed. I once found with hypnosis, that a very fat lady unconsciously didn't want to lose fat because she was "punishing" her husband. Bedwetters often are unconsciously "punishing their parents". Sounds silly, but it's true as any good psychologist can testify. The goals of the unconscious often contradict the goals of the conscious! * A somewhat similar unconscious motive might be that the person is "punishing" their self for some real or imaginary guilt. As to why this Hawthorne Effect seems to be somewhat more prevalent used in subliminal training than in EEG BF training, it's probable that using the conscious mind to work on the unconscious may seem to be more "reassuring", and create less resistance to change.

However, some persons working in EEG BF (AKA Neurofeedback) have reported this same effect in some trainees. Now that (I hope) you understand the Hawthorne Effect a bit better, let's see what it means to you and yours! First and foremost - be assured that you can come to no harm in simply continuing to train as you did. The Hawthorne Effect has never actually harmed anyone, except scaring them out of doing what they want to do. If you simply keep on going to sleep while playing the Bate Auditory Training audio, in a few days or so, you'll notice that you are now, once again, improving in various symptoms. Keep on trucking, as the saying goes, and you'll get better. For much more information on other specific problems, you can go to Dr Bate's two other websites which have lots of free information on nutrition and Orthomolecular/Alternative therapies as well as EEG Biofeedback. These are: Phil Bate PhD - Retired Orthomolecular Psychologist Inventor and Patent Pending Holder for Brain Wave Amplitude Changing via Auditory Training http://Subliminals-Training. com http://BateAudio. com

Reasons why you should go for a colonic

Indeed, we take so much troubles everyday to keep our outer body clean! We brush our teeth, we take shower, the men shave everyday, women try to get rid of unwanted hairs and the list seems to be endless comprising of a number of daily compulsive rituals. But have you ever though of cleansing your inside? Have you ever tried to contemplate what is going on under your skin? Yes, most of us never bother to know what we should do to keep our internal system clean. From a biological perspective, we the Homo sapiens have not changed much since the beginning of civilization. But our lifestyles transformed in a way that can not rightly complement the way our system is originally designed. Sedentary lifestyle, absence of fibrous elements in diet, consumption of wrong foods…

all take their tolls on our health which we can not realize until they manifest themselves in a number of dysfunctions among which constipation, diarrhea, stomach ache, fatigue, skin problems are most common and cancer or breaking down of body’s immune system are the most fatal. These dysfunctions could have been prevented if we would have spared adequate thoughts on getting our inside cleansed as we do with our outer body. The same way we clean our body in a number of ways, we also have various options to cleanse the internal organs of our systems, quite easily and often with dramatic affects. By incorporating a few lifestyle changes, we can ensure that the essential nutrients of our foods are absorbed in our body and the waste materials of the body are eliminated from the system regularly. Well, this depends on the proper functioning of the colon, the food processor of human body and you will get back a healthy colon if only you keep it clean and waste free.

Most of the leading physicians agree on the pernicious effects of an unhealthy colon on our health and increasing rates of colon cancer just reaffirms their point. So colon cleansing has become an issue of utmost importance in the recent medical researches. You might be wondering how you can possibly reach out to an internal organ like colon to make it clean. There are a number of processes that range from oral medication to hands on applications like enema and colonic, a kind of water-thearapy. Let us examine how colonic can change your life for better by improving your overall health. First of all, colonic clean-up will destroy the toxic materials so that it can no longer hinder in the process of assimilation and elimination and your colon regains its previous active state.

Through colonic irrigation, the colon is getting filled with water and emptied several times which improves the contraction of colon muscles that eases the elimination of the wastes. Colonic treatment brings back the colon in its normal shape and helps it to resume its proper functioning. The process of colonic stimulates the reflex points through which colon is connected to every organ of the body and thus other body parts are also benefited through colonic.

Massage therapy for the elderly

You've probably heard about how effective massage therapy for elderlies is by now, but you probably don't know why it is considered so beneficial. Well, although massage therapy has been practiced for a long time, the general public has only recently started to open their minds and hearts to this technique in recent years. It is now known, and proven, that touch therapy and massage helps reduce stress in elderlies - someone who is given the massage and touch therapy sleeps deeper and longer. Massage therapy provides elderlies with a very nurturing feeling and it is especially helpful for adults with medical or physical problems. The more times they experience your touch, the calmer they will become. The calmer they are, the better they are able to deal with the medical interventions that they have to go through at their old age! Massage therapy and touch therapy have a lot in common because they have a lot to do with motion of the hands over various parts of the body. The technique involves a lot of touching, stroking, and massaging of body parts. Massage therapy might even be a little bit on the painful side - but for elderlies, this is not the case. Some nursing professionals offer massage therapy services to elderlies they deliver. Professional nurses who offer these services will provide the technique to critically or seriously ill elderlies. These nurses work closely with the elderly's doctor and other nurses to ensure that the persons health is in no way endangered at all. Elderlies who are not medically challenged will also benefit from massage therapy. It has been shown that elderlies who are given massage therapy from an early age tend to age more alert, smarter, and healthier in general. Make sure you treat your parents right by giving them a free massage gift!

Stuttering speech therapy

In this article, I write about the various types of stuttering therapies that are available. My background, I started stuttering at the age of four, it continued until I was twenty-two, basically ruining the eighteen years in between. I then fought very hard and eventually overcame the stutter. According to latest figures, around one percent of people in the UK have a stutter. Most of these people will have seeked help at some stage of their life, and will have looked into stuttering treatments and the different forms of stuttering therapy. This is what they may have found: Traditional speech therapy Speech therapy is where the majority of people who stutter will start when trying to improve their speech. I myself, attended speech therapy from the age of five, I continued attending until the age of eighteen. Thirteen years and I still had the stutter, that was successful! The advice I had been given at speech therapy was basically: speak slowly take a deep breath before you speak accept your stutter I am sorry but that advice is just not good enough. Group stuttering speech courses There are now a number of private speech courses that are run on a group basis. In my opinion these are of more value than traditional speech therapy as at least the aim of the course is to eradicate the stutter. Speech therapy is more of controlling and accepting the stutter. One to one speech courses There are also one to one speech courses available. I personally believe that this is the best form of stuttering therapy as each person will have their own individual stutter and needs. Stuttering self help dvd and ebook For people who would prefer a self help form of stuttering therapy, there are now stuttering dvds and ebooks available.

Colon hydrotherapy may not be a complete answer

The popularity of colon hydrotherapy is eminently understandable, in a world where we become increasingly aware of the dangers of many aspects of our modern lifestyle. With the easy availability of information through such mediums as television, video, and the local library, and more recently the Internet, most of us strive to do the best we can in maintaining our health, and grasp eagerly any chance we can find to improve our wellbeing. Despite a sometimes less than favorable response from the mainstream medical community, colonic hydrotherapy is a popular treatment, but should we ask ourselves whether it is one that addresses a symptom rather than attacking a cause? As our fast paced world moves, almost in the blink of an eye, from books to computers, from video to DVD, and from regular doctor’s visits to online consultations with the Internet, we seem to be running out of time to take care of the things that really matter. While the health of our bodies, from our heart to our colon, remains important to so many of us, we are so busy with both working and playing hard that the time to eat properly and exercise regularly seems to evade us. We take a pill as soon as a headache strikes because we don’t have time to relax it away and hope that with hydrotherapy, colon operations that have gone awry will return to business as usual. While medical tools such as the headache pill and colon hydrotherapy undoubtedly have a place in our busy lives, we should perhaps not view them as the panacea to our ills that we have arguably come to see them as. Colonic hydrotherapy reportedly yields enormous health benefits, improving the condition of skin and hair, and resulting in increased energy levels, but these are states of wellbeing experienced by most people with a healthy functioning colon. While a hydrotherapy treatment for the colonic area might be a useful condiment at the meal of health, when it becomes the staple of our diet, we must ask ourselves whether we, literally, are eating quite right. While the effectiveness of colon hydrotherapy remains a matter of debate, the comfort and health earned by achieving and maintaining a healthy bowel is not. There is nothing wrong in reaching out for medical – whether it is mainstream or alternative – help when it is required, but over-dependence on such help should suggest that our bodies are not working as they should.

Colon hydrotherapy might be a great way to add those final touches to your internal spring clean, but for the daily dusting of your colon and intestines, eating right, exercising and drinking plenty of water are your best ways to long-term health. Colon hydrotherapy may be great treatment, but make sure you pay attention to other factors to ensure good colon health as well.

How to lower blood pressure using a natural treatment

More often than not, stress is a contributory factor to high blood pressure. When we feel relaxed, so is everything actually in our body, including our blood vessels. As we have seen, it's the constriction and restriction of the blood vessels which causes high blood pressure so anything which causes these to dilate or relax is beneficial. Here are some alternative ways to treat high blood pressure using herbs, aromatherapy and yoga. Herbs Lemon Balm - (melissa officinalis) This is a green leafy herb, similar in appearance to mint and almost as easy to grow. The herb is so-called because it's leaves have a lemony scent. It is known for it's calming and relaxing effects, and has a strengthening effect on the muscles. It was introduced to Britain in 4th C by the Romans and is also good for digestion, abdominal cramps, stress and nerves. The essential oil is good as an insect repellent but, as with all essential oils, should never be taken internally. Lemon balm leaves are wonderful in salads or used as marinade for chicken and fish. This herb should not be used by pregnant women because it relaxes the cervical muscles. Stinging Nettles Stinging nettles have been useful in the treatment of arthritis and are full of vitamin C. They stimulate and cleanse the body and improve heart function. Believe it or not, they actually make good tea. Pick the top fresh shoots from the plant and follow the instructions on the left to make herbal tea. Hawthorne Hawthorne relaxes muscles, stimulates heart metabolism and strengthens heart contractions. It also causes the blood vessels to dilate and improves blood supply to the heart. Hawthorne can be found in English hedgerows and was believed to have magical properties in pagan times. It is usually the berries that are used medicinally. You should never take Hawthorne without the advice of your GP AND a herbalist. To find a herbalist look at the useful contact listing at the bottom of this article. Other Useful Herbs Fennel, black pepper, ginger, oregano, basil, tarragon and hyssop all contain compounds which can help to lower blood pressure. Fennel and ginger also make delicious herbal teas and combine well with lemon balm. Aromatherapy Aromatherapy oils are easy and safe alternatives if they are used correctly. They should never be taken internally or applied neat on the skin, except in the case of lavender and tea tree oil. You can either burn 5-8 drops in an oil burner or make your own massage oil by diluting 5-10 drops in 10ml of almond oil. Choose oils that have relaxing and calming properties. Try rose, ylang ylang, marjoram, lavender, cypress, chamomille, clary sage and rosewood. Yoga Yoga can also help to reduce high blood pressure because it stretches, elongates and massages the blood vessels which improves circulation and encourages the blood vessels to remain soft. Stress can also increase blood pressure and yoga, with it's relaxing principles can help combat that. It is worth noting that yoga is also a weight bearing exercises because some of the poses require you to hold up your own body weight. Weight bearing exercise can help to prevent osteoporosis, a disease which affects one third of women and two thirds of men over the age of 50. Many other useful information will be published in further articles regarding lowering blood pressure using a natural treatment.

The practice of self-healing is being practiced by the Reiki healers, in which they place their hand in a traditional position, stimulating their own body energy. Reiki can also be practiced through group and distance healing. In group healing, there are two or more Reiki practitioners placing their hand over the body of the patient. In distance or absence healing involves the visualizing the patient, his or her illness through the Reiki symbol.

Therapy dog training

Therapy Dog Training – The Benefits of a Visiting Dog Sometimes when people are sick their need for love, support and attention just don’t go within what most understand as normal. They need a lot more. Unfortunately, not all people have the time or the patience to deal with people who are sick, ill or disordered. However, dogs when well-oriented to dog therapy training could augment the emotional and physical support that most people could not provide. Therapy dog training require specializations that are rooted on fundamental dog training. As such, training for this work entails the need to form behaviors in the dog that are of great help to people who are undergoing therapy. Therefore, basic dog training will not suffice if the dog needs to demonstrate other obligations like performing various roles and interacting well with the patient. Therapy dogs are used in hospitals were mostly the patients are the children and the elderly. The handler and the dog will provide the patients with sufficient attention and activities that will let them drift away from the present problems in their lives. However, therapy dogs are not only valuable in hospitals, the comfort they give are also necessary components in other therapy centers like nursing homes, schools, mental institutions and retirement homes. The type of training that therapy dogs undergo are especially created and modified from various other trainings to fit the needs called for in situations that usually occur during hospital visitations. Their training will equip them with the appropriate skills to allow strangers to enjoy their company. To provide enjoyable experiences, most therapy dogs are trained to do tricks and performances that the audience will enjoy. Most dog breeds could undergo therapy training. However popular choices for training include breeds that have high temperance since they have to work with people that they are not familiar with. Training of therapy dogs vary from state to state however, it is general rule that a therapy dg should have certification of good citizenship before it can enter into the formal training and service. Certification as well as training could be obtained from local therapy dog training classes or animal shelters. After obtaining this certification, therapy training for the dog will begin. This kind of training will condition the dog to ignore things like hospital equipments, people who are not the subject of therapy and noise. They are also trained to help with basic tasks like simple activities. However, they must not be confused with service dogs. These are the dogs, which are under the law, help people who have disabilities. More often than not, they work on a continuous basis. Therapy dogs are more like visitors to patients and not really dogs that will accompany and help people with disabilities with their daily tasks. A visiting dog will also help in changing the routine from time to time. Therapy could be quite boring for many people thus the need for change of pace will always contribute something positive to the therapy. Animals could also make the patient feel less depressed or lonely since they create distractions from the unproductive thoughts of the patients. Dogs could also encourage the patient to become less passive and more responsive and active during and after visitations. Therapy training will also help the dog entertain the patient; they may either provide fun or diversion from the pain and suffering currently experienced. Therapy dog training is relatively unpopular but the services of the dog for this purpose have been used for so many years.

Hair loss stem cell therapy a new technique

Since 1990s stem cells are used in many treatments. Nowadays for hair regeneration, hair loss stem cell therapy is proving to be a good technique. First of all we need to know what stem cell is. Stem cells are the first building blocks of our body. We all started as a stem cell and then subsequently divided into millions of cells as we grew over time. Then a reverse process of decreasing stem cells starts, as we get older. The process gets faster if we suffer from diseases like heart attack, stroke, cancer, diabetes etc. In stem cell therapy, stem cells are used as a replacement of damaged or dead cells in the body. On the scalp dead cells don’t grow hair and the area becomes bare, which we call bald. Now if we replace the dead cells on the scalp with new ones through stem cell therapy then the bald spot can be transformed into an area full of hair. This is the basic premise of stem cell therapy for treating baldness. After using this therapy to treat baldness, particularly male pattern baldness, some have experienced good results and some have not had good results. The research is still on and hopefully the success rate will improve in the coming years. In the scientific lab, stem cells are produced and then these cells are injected in the bald areas of the scalp. If the first attempt to generate hair does not work then the doctors try again but the result is not guaranteed as the process is at an initial stage. If you want to try stem cell therapy for hair loss you can contact a dermatologist for the purpose.
